There is this syndrome that comes up whenever we're about to
get to the finish line of any project we lay our hands upon.
It is the weariness syndrome.
I saw a post a long time ago indicating changes in students'
decisions as they advance in their undergraduate journey.
Though, this is funny but it speaks the truth.
A year 1 student sets his/her goal to graduating with a
first class, but after a while he/she changes his/her goal because of some
reasons, with this 'weight of weariness' included. Same still comes up till the
final year where if he/she is not careful enough, his/her goal would have
become an unappreciated one. Why? Weariness was allowed.
Whenever a project is coming to conclusion, we tend to relax
because we're seeing the end coming. Meanwhile, this is the time we ought to
put in more efforts, more strength, more time, more resources, so as not to
destroy everything we have been working towards.
If you're not careful enough, the last minute weariness can
be a disaster to your work. Imagine an athlete on his final lap relaxed because
he's far ahead of his counterparts, he's simply playing with failure. He'll be
surprised that someone who has not given up from the back will take his place
at the front.
Getting close to the end does not equally mean it has ended,
thus, it is not a relaxation period, it is a time you have to be more awaken.
You know the beauty of this period? It is a period where you can safely amend all
the weak points you've had from the start.
So, wake up!!! It's not yet time to relax or sleep.
There's more to be done.
Have a great day!!!
